We stayed as a stop over on our way back home to Portugal. It was just was we needed after a long frustrating road trip. Reception was friendly and fast. Parking is to be booked and was easy to get to, right at the side of the hotel. Very stunning location with lovely views of the river. Not all rooms have views (you get what you pay for!) but I appreciated how quiet was ours which was at the back facing the courtyard of the front of the hotel. We found the bed very comfortable. It is dog friendly, and there is a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the old city are superb, where you can chill and have a very decently priced meal (and you can take your dog with you to eat outdoors). Their trio of sorbets is out of this world! From the hotel, it is a 10-15 minute walk over the old bridge to explore the old town. We didn't breakfast there but wished we had spent an extra night. For the price of our room, it was one of the best places we stayed in years.

The staff was friendly, helpful and considerate. My sister & I are advancing in age & have some motility issues. Without us asking, Julian showed us a second room that met our needs better & gave us a choice of rooms. He was so thoughtful & kind to suggest that to us. The room was wonderful. It was quiet, clean & had comfortable beds. The bathroom had been updated with a shower & beautiful fixtures. I was impressed with all the eco friendly things the hotel had done We had both breakfast & dinner on the outside terrace with wonderful views across the river Tarn to the cathedral. We enjoyed the meals & views immensely. I loved the history & charm of the building which was once an old mill. And I loved the proximity to the cathedral & Toulouse Lautrec Museum. It was great to have the convenience of leaving the car in the on site lot.

The hotel was situated just 5 mins walk from both the commercial centre and the historic one. Parking was plentiful. The room was comfortable and amazingly quiet, even though there was a weir and a road nearby. (Effective double glazing!) The piece de resistance was the superb breakfast: Plentiful and varied, including continental and cooked. There was a machine crushing oranges, giving you the freshest possible orange juice. There was also a large selection of loose teas, including English Breakfast AND fresh milk! The receptionist spoke English, which was useful. All in all, great visit. We wish we could have stayed longer. N.B. We got horribly lost, trying to find the hotel as the sat nav wanted to take us down roads that were closed. Make sure you stipulate no. 2 n°2 rue de la visitation.

I stayed at the Mecure Albi Bastides on the third and fourth nights of a 30 day road trip through France and Spain. I was really impresssed with this hotel. Firstly, there was a large private car park in the grounds of the hotel. Once in the reception area, staff were very welcoming and spoke excellent English. My room was very comfortable, with good facilities and great views over stunning Albi. The hotel restaurant was reasonably good value and the food was very good with the option of outdoor dining with impressive views of the river and cathedral. Breakfast was also very good with lots of choice.

We stayed in a room with a view of the river and the cathedral and I am not exaggerating when I say it truly is a marvellous view: the pink cathedral of Albi rises majestically over the river bank, dwarfing all other buildings and magically changing colour as the Sun moves across the sky. The room itself was not very big but sufficient for a short stay. The hotel's public areas boast a gorgeous bar, with a balcony overlooking the river, and a ground-floor restaurant, as well as a lovely small garden and a car park.
